So, I work at a grocery store (not specifying which one) and we had a couple changes to the water bottle policy since I started. First, anything went as long as it had a screw on cap. I had no problem abiding by this. After that, it was changed (~4 months ago) to the water bottle has to be clear. No problem, I bought a clear Nalgene and all was fine. But today, I heard they’re changing it to water only being allowed in the break room. I honestly don’t know who’s bright idea it was but it pisses me off that I can’t drink water at a register. We don’t have a water fountain and if I’m working 5 hours I need a way to hydrate and my only window for that is 15 minutes. I can’t understand the big problem with me having a water bottle at the register. I was already on the fence about leaving but this made me quit.
TL;DR. Leaving my job because apparently water bottles aren’t allowed at the register anymore.
