The quiet quitting narrative is an affront to anyone who’s worked at a job

I’ve never seen such a bizarre and vapid narrative driven so boldy down the media pipeline as this one has been. At least in regards to the working-person. I make gargbage money doing a high financial risk job. If anyone in the US has done a refinance, I may have been the guy on the phone at the settlement agent asking you to correct a missed date to approve the new loan. Millions upon millions of dollars in refinance closings, and I make $17/hr. I’ve been a model employee and grown business. I’ve been shouted at on the phone by every outraged, title holding individual, that “owns” (quotes because chain of title is actually a hilariously flawed model that slows the entire process down to a relatively fixed rate) a house which I can only dream of. Complete mania. You’ve seen people flip out over .69 cents at Starbucks, imagine…

Complete mania. You’ve seen people flip out over .69 cents at Starbucks, imagine it’s $4,000 for an HOI policy that just went missing. Or the wire to payoff their $30,000 HELOC had diappeared, literal wire fraud. Or a signing agent that who was filmed for social media and harassed by the borrowers’ for wearing a mask. Which the agent walked out of, I can’t blame them. But the loan didn’t close. So I had to explain that to the bank, and get another agent to close the transaction. Everyone is pissed off and angry that I’m still trying to get it done? I’ve been told I’m horrible at my job by multimillionaires, loan officers & advisors. I’d llove to tell them what I really think about them as they shout at me, but I need to make enough money to be able to keep my teeth. (Not kidding, that’s where most of my money is going.) People are horrible when it comes to money. It brings out the absolute worst in some of them. I execute transactions every day several times larger than my paycheck. Every day I feel taken advantage of. The absurdity of this whole quiet quitting thing is legitimately making me think about flat out quitting. Maybe that’s the point.
