The rare time I call in sick I always get push back from supervisors and I’m starting to get pissed off.

I've been working as a garbage man for 5 years. It's not an easy job but I manage to pace myself and I rarely call in sick- maybe 1-2 times a year. I pride myself on being a good productive worker so when I do need to call in sick I always think it should be no problem since I know other workers call in way more than me. But no, every time I've called in sick the supervisors have talked shit to me. One tried to guilt me by saying it's going to be a long day for everyone else. One literally said fuck you, he later said it was a joke but how am I suppose to know when he sounds angry. Another just mumbled and hung up and then the next day said I didn't call in properly and that next time I'd be written up even…

Another just mumbled and hung up and then the next day said I didn't call in properly and that next time I'd be written up even though I followed protocol exactly. There also seems to be a bit of resentment in them afterwards when I come in the next day.

Do y'all deal with that when calling in sick?
