Has anyone ever been a part of this awkward situation?
I previously worked for a company where I had a, let's say, less than glorious exit.
Fast forward to 3 years later, new company. Same circus, different clowns as I always say. I know my previous employer is one of our clients, but not a client of my department. I honestly thought I would not run into anyone I worked for. Well, today, my worst nightmare arrived. The multi site manager from my previous company (who obviously remembered me, although I would venture a guess not too well from his reaction) wondered in with our branch manager. The branch manager proceeds to introduce him to everyone. He recognizes me, is congenial (due to the professional setting, I would guess also) and I find any excuse to get back to work as to not have to interact with him any further.
Needless to say, it was awkward, at the very least. I would have loved to tell him what I thought of him, but didn't, out of professional courtesy.
Had this been an interaction at a public place, I doubt he would have said anything to me and if he did, I would have let him have it with what I thought of him.
Has that ever happened to anyone?
