The soul-crushing normalcy of potential employers ghosting you after interviews instead of communicating that you haven’t been chosen to be hired.

I spent over an hour-and-a-half giving my all in two Zoom interviews and felt confident, despite the host’s connection being so terrible on the second one I could barely make out every other sentence. Then they said, “we will contact you again today IF you are chosen for employment.” Now, it’s seven o’clock and the work day is over and I can only assume I wasn’t chosen, judging by the deafening silence. I’m a broke father of two and I’m struggling to get out from under the hell that is entry-level warehouse/factory/retail employment. I wish they’d at least TELL me they don’t want me. Leaving me dangling in the wind feels awful. This is such a shitty practice and I feel crazy that it seems to be the norm. WTF?
