The state of the education system

I'm from a university with a very toxic dean of faculty. Yesterday, the students had an invited speaker talking about law enforcement in pharmacy practice. At the end, the dean decided to say a few words and well, read it for yourself. This is a word for word breakdown, not corrected for grammar, and she also very often says the same thing to the staff especially about the 9-5 and frog in a shell, it's her favourite go to phrase. Side note: PRP is provisionally registered pharmacist, a provisional 1 year training after graduation before being able to fully register as a pharmacist) “I'd like to thank our speaker. “I'd like to thank our speaker. You can see the dynamism in her that most graduates now do not have, unfortunately i'm telling the truth ya

Nowadays, people are like I would like to take this much of salary, i'd like to work this many hours 9-5 Monday to Friday then go back. That's it. Enjoy my life, go travel, four, five times a year.

Believe it or not, some of your seniors who have graduated, during PRP time, you know they finish their exam, we will tell them, “send in your application of your PRP!” You know what they will do? They will go for holiday, how many times holiday? Not once you know, three times. “I want my holiday, I finish studying”. And then they will lose out, and other people will be in track for PRP in queue.

So the dynamism, the character and attitude is very important, this is what I keep telling all of you all, it is not only CGPA it is your character, attitude, the way you carry yourself, your communication skills and how much you need to talk.

It's not for fun in university, we keep telling ya'll, it's higher education for a reason, not school. Why do you call in higher education, because you make something out of who you are. It's like, you know, you have bamboo right? It's the time where you already bamboo at pre-u, you need to bent it, and in what way you need to bend yourself that is higher education. you get what I mean?

There are thousands of other people out there, so why should I employ or choose you? Because you have something that they need. What is that something that you need? Characters that our speaker has just depicted. Out of many succesful pharmacists nationally globally that's what you need. You know, you have 4.0 CGPA you don't have that attitude, you're not gonna get employed. Even if you get employed, you're gonna be in that status only, you're not gonna grow.

The takeaway message here is whether it's community, hospital, industry, you have to find out what kind of person you are. It's not a one room fits all kinda thing, it depends on your character, your passion, what you like.

So person A to B will vary, alright? So let yourself free, give yourself freedom, you can try. You are all young, you can try and find your passion. There is no one thing that is good for all. We cannot tell you what you like, so that is the takehome message, attitude, character, charisma is absolutely important. Don't be a frog sitting in a shell, it will never work. You wanna be futuristic pharmacist, you're all very talented. Be inspired.”
