As someone (m,30) with a history of upper GI bleeds (5 of them throughout my life) something is severely fucked with our system when I show concrete symptoms for 2 days and just have to keep going to work until I finally pass out. It's easy to say “just go to the hospital” but last time I did it cost me $8,000 dollars out of pocket and I just happened to have a minor enough bleed that it stopped by the time they scoped me. Life is depressing, Healthcare and basic human safety should not be something you have to wait until the very last moment to take care of. Here's hoping I make it to tomorrow while making someone else a ton of money!
