I used to work in a automotive plastic factory In Michigan, it regularly got 110-125f inside during the summer. We were also on lockdown most of the time one summer so all doors were shut.
It was 12 hour shifts, absolute torture. People would drop like flies and the ambulance was there at least every other day.
It was so hot once we had a operator pass out and stop breathing. My boss had to give her cpr.
Did they shut down? Nope. But they handed out child size Gatorades and a 20 minute lunch. That was so the most stressful, overworked and underpaid job I ever had. The owner threatened to close the plant if any union talk turned up.
Just wanted to share my story. To my fellow auto workers, be safe!
