The Will Lehman UAW campaign is a revolting fraud against the labor movement

Will Lehman has been recently gaining some traction in the campaign for UAW President by claiming to appeal to the interests of the working class against the repeated sellouts of the union leaders and saying tough action is needed against the companies. By itself, there is nothing wrong with this. The problem is that Will Lehman is a contemptible fraud. Will Lehman is a campaign staged in close cooperation with the misleadingly named “Socialist Equality Party”, a party that specializes in manipulatively using radical-sounding “working-class” language in order to deceptively push company interests and union-busting. The party is run by David North, AKA David W. Green, the former CEO of the big, anti-union (i.e. a scab shop) “Grand River Printing”, Inc. printing business.

It publishes the so-called “World Socialist Web Site” as its main organ. The party line of this website is rigidly anti-union — exactly in line with David's interests as a CEO.

It tells workers to break with unions at the moment of a strike. It told workers to vote “No” to Amazon unionization campaigns. It told workers to vote “No” in UAW organizing campaigns.

The trick of these fraudsters is to appeal to real working-class discontent against the union leadership (due to the bad contracts they ram through, sellouts, etc.) in order to push a pro-company, anti-union message.

They are experts at disguising themselves, their whole platform claiming to center around “socialism”, “the interests of the working class”.

Of course, it is true that the UAW leadership does indeed sell out workers all the time — a situation that should be corrected ASAP. But behind Will Lehman stands the interests of the anti-union corporate class, the mortal enemy of the working class.

All of the above is publicly verifiable information. Please spread this information far and wide.
