There’s no need to explain yourself to your boss for time off.

There are so many people on here that tell their boss why they need off and then have to have a confrontational conversation with them to negotiate said time off. All you ever need to do is say I will not be in for personal reasons. That’s it. They don’t need to know anything additional as to why you will not be at work. It is literally none of their business.
