Hello everyone, I am a shift lead barista in a hospital in the Midwest. So I had a long talk with my manager yesterday and my eyes are finally wide open. I love this sub and wanted to show yall the bs I've had to be in for about a year this August.
Pros:
●litteraly couldn't get fired even if you tried.
Cons:
● $20 dollar parking fee for the ramps if you have an 8/hr shift.
● the manager changes their mind on a whim nor is there any communication on when policy is being changed.
^ oh and expect to hear about the changes via anyone else that isn't a manager.
● one person makes a mistake and you bet you will see a text in the work chat that is so clearly aimed at someone
^ toxic work group chat that's not used for the right purpose
● focuses on the “needs” of fresh new hires over people that have worked there for years.
● doctors and nurses have no manners
● “write ups” that don't….do….anything????
● paid every 2 weeks and they STILL use paper checks. No direct deposit. You will have to find a way to get there on Fridays.
● no training for new hires or shift leads
● obvious favoritism
● becareful who you rant about work to….
● you will be working with many college kids! Maybe a few people in their 20s
●starts at 13$ there are no raises ever unless you become a shift lead
● the health code score that is posted for everyone to see is pretty hilarious. C's and D'S across the board
● food and beverage prices have increased every month but still no pay raises.
imagine paying $11 for a salad or $9.50 for a club sandwhich!
● remember the customer is always right and its always your fault!
