Antiwork

They asked for more, I asked for equal, and was told I was unreasonable.

I used to work for a large bank but in a low paid role in a call centre. Occasionally they would have what they called a Focus Day where we were all expected to exceed targets but they’d be incentives like boxes of chocolates or very cheap bottles of wine. Eventually management got tired of offering incentives and would just tell us “it’s a Focus Day.” On one such occasion a manager said “so today we really need you guys to hit 110%” and I put my hand up and said “will we be paid 110% for doing so?” And was abruptly told no. After that meeting I was taken aside and told I had a negative attitude and that it would be noted in my six month appraisal, which determines my bonus.
