My dumb lazy ass office workers didn’t check my paycheck to make sure I was paying federal and state income taxes, but I’m paying state taxes for another state.
Long story short I work in the field, I travel around to different hospitals, and I work long hours and have a tough job. We are somewhat small. My bosses assistant is entitled and argues about doing any kind of work at all. She’s also “HR”.
When I was onboarded I was amazed because unlike any other job I’d worked at, this one literally did not explain anything to me about what HR company they use, or their policies. It just was what it was.
Anyway, I did my onboarding with the HR company and filled out a W4, all 3 of them. The federal, state, and non resident. Because I work between 2 states.
I never really looked at my pay stubs, but here I am looking at my w2 8 months later to do my taxes and there was NOTHING under federal income taxes or the state I live ins taxes, but I have been paying out of state income taxes.
I make a lot of money, and this is NOT GOOD.
If they don’t offer to pay the money, so I just quit?
