I have worked for the same company for over 8 years. Clean record, odd day off sick
Mid to late October my son was involved in a car crash, he's ok no injuries. The next day my company car was rammed. The department who should deal with this did nothing. I'm home based and cannot work without a car, so I dealt with it. Long story short it was stressful and a week later I got given a pool car that was illegal as there were two big stone chips in the windscreen.
Then out of the blue my mother who is 79, has two heart attacks and we are told that she needs a triple bypass. Then we are told that the scans have resulted in no suitable veins and that further investigation needs to be done. 3 days later my dog dies at 12.5 years old, I call on sick. This same day my mom had to be resuscitated following complications after the surgery. I go back to work the next day. At the end of this day I get an email telling me I have a disciplinary hearing for gross misconduct Stress levels at this stage are through the roof. The reason for the disciplinary is that on the day we were told about the vein issue I was consoling my dad and was late for a meeting online.
So, I have a return to work meeting today. My boss knows everything I'm going and been through, he notes it all and then tells me that the two days off I took (the day my dog died and the stress of the hearing) have triggered a sickness policy level 1, meaning I cannot be off sick for 6 months.
They don't give a fuq. If I didn't have a mortgage and children I would spark him out with a big stick as he ain't worth the pain it may cause to my hands.
How can anyone be so cold, so unsympathetic and such a c u next Tuesday?
That's my rant. My hearing is tomorrow.
