I just received an email from a company asking me to do a technical test lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes. It is the first contact I have with this company, they do not know what salary range I am asking for and I do not know anything about the position they offer me but even so they expect me to dedicate 2 hours and 30 minutes to prove that I am worth for a position that I know nothing about.
This is ridiculous, I fully understand the fact that I have to do a technical test, I've done it in all the interviews I've had but never like this. Before asking me to give you so much time of my life, you should have the courtesy to explain to me why I am going to dedicate this time to you. If in the end I decide to take the test and I do well, the financial offer or the position could be rubbish, and then what?
I don't understand how we've gotten to this point where a company has the nerve to do these things. Obviously I've told them that I'm not going to do the test but I know there are lots of people who will.
