Long time employee (40+ years) and middle manager for a 50 employee company where they reduced my staff by 1/3, so now I am now doing the work of the people let go and my managerial job. When asked during a staff meeting why things are taking so long to get through my department, I replied that my resources were cut 33%… another manager quickly said that he comes in a 3:45am every morning to keep up, implying that I should do the same. I just replied “that's nice”.
