it’s simple. i do more but i get paid less? i got a 8¢ raise months ago while my very “competent” coworker got 24¢. i’ve been slowly getting more and more few up w the quality of work i have to do because i am literally referred to as someone that runs my area, by management, while i’m literally just a normal team member but i got 1 of the lowest raises?
i sent a text expressing my want for a conversation and why
“hey since i finally got to mention my thoughts on the raises to you, i’d like to open the conversation of us revisiting my raise. since it seems S— is qualified for a a raise that was over 2x more than mine while i am cross trained in multiple areas, pick at the same rate as S—-, and the only recorded complaint about me was my attendance, which was only an issue when management would not take my health in any kind of consideration when giving me an unworkable schedule, obviously proven once management actually did do their part to change the schedule”
i’m told by my boss to talk to his boss. cool. i set up a meeting with his boss. it goes okay for the most part. he seemed to listen and agreed my raise was a slap in the face, even wrote down some notes on my attendance bc i would only be 1-3 minutes late.
fast forward to today… my boss calls me into a meeting with a printout of my text. as if he didn’t tell me to meet w his boss. he wants to “discuss” what was said. after we go back & forth about this text and he continues to shut down my argument that the raises were disproportionately handed out, he stops the conversation and begins to explain he’s now giving me disciplinary action for my attendance suddenly. no previous warning. he said he did warn me during our performance review back in august. i record all meetings and it was literally him mentioning it then going “but i don’t want to overshadow your work since it’s not that big of a deal” but now my attendance is apparently bad enough to put me on final warning? awesome.
