They’re Threatening to Fire Any Medical Marijuana Users

First time posting here and I'm not exactly sure how much I gotta worry about on this. My job started hiring and I asked for a friend about if they still tested for marijuana. I didn't wanna ask because that's kind of a suspicious question imo, but I did and they still do. Some places aren't anymore in my state. I mentioned that my friend was getting her medical card and was told that if someone tested positive for weed they would not be hired even if they had a medical marijuana card. Even someone already working who's got a card, if they need a drug test and all they test positive for is weed they will still be fired. That didn't sit right with me so I went researching and found that my state is one of few who've added the extra ammendment or whatever protecting medical marijuana card…

That didn't sit right with me so I went researching and found that my state is one of few who've added the extra ammendment or whatever protecting medical marijuana card holders. They cannot be fired for testing positive for weed, cannot be discriminated against for it in the hiring process, (all so long as they have a viable card), and the only way to fire them is if they are smoking on company property or they come in under the influence. I assume the second means so high you can't do your job but I take it for PTSD. Just enough to keep my mind calm for the day.

But I know a lot of people at my work smoke and not everyone has a card. I do have a card and I follow the rules to it. I just don't know how to bring this up to my employer or let them mess themselves over and get a lawsuit when they fire or refuse to hire a medical marijuana card holder.

Anyone else going through something similar?
