I had a general manager named Shannon who was without a doubt the single biggest piece of shit I’ve ever met in my life. I was 18 years old supposed to be working part time. Within a matter of 12 months I went from part time in computers to full time to sales lead for their magnolia home theater section. I’m talking at the peak of the 4K TV world when 7000$ tvs was huge if you moved one and I was slinging them like a mad man. first in our district to sell a 9000$ Sony 4K. Making 9.50 an hour……… with no raise at all for any of the position jumps. When my yearly came I got offered a .15 cent raise. 15 cents, and there was nothing I could do about it. Then I find out the SEASONAL help is getting paid 11.50 an hour. We got 30 minute unpaid lunches, and if I took more than 30, they would come looking for me in the break room to make sure I was done and back on the floor. If I showed up 1 minute late for work I got written up and had to go in a meeting after meeting after meeting being told I’m too good and employee to fire but I can’t be allowed to break the rules so they just kept threatening me. It was non stop pestering their top salesperson while other people are playing games on the demo units and doing horribly in numbers. Eventually I had enough, got another job and put in my notice. This piece of shit had the audacity to tell me that if I left, I would be giving up my student loan assistance like he was holding a bag of gold over my head. I told him I would be making double what he pays me and unless he could match it I was gone. He then proceeded to tell me the company I was leaving for (Verizon) was unstable and I would be foolish to consider leaving.
Shannon, if you’re out there. I hope your kid when they grow up has to work for a scumbag like you.
