I posted awhile ago talking about how it's been over a month since I've seen a paycheck from my company (I'll link the previous post for context).
They owe me upwards of $18k including expense for travel that I had to pay, and was promised back.
I tried reaching out to DOL but they said they can't help people who are independent contractors like myself (I'm a remote animator). Especially since the CEO lies about where his company is based for some weird reason.
This industry takes advantage of animators all the time (this is the second time a company has gotten away with flat out not paying me for work that was agreed upon).
I'm really trying to be strong and figure out my next move but with no money, no lawyer, and no way of knowing how to take a company to court myself, I'm afraid I'll just have to let greedy corporate America win this one.
My only reasonable next step is to call the company out by name and take this publicly.
Any other suggestions or counter-suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And sorry if this is the wrong sub, I just don't know where else to turn.
