This is happening to me right now :(

Tldr at bottom. So I got a job last December in a factory as a mechanical operator with a 7 month contract to start. After 3 months they already put me in charge of 3 people and let me train 4 more which were all very successful. Early in February of this year I became so ill I was in bed for 5 days sleeping or puking (not covid) it was so bad I contemplated calling an ambulance on the 3rd day. During all this my grandfather whom I had an amazing bond with was dying of cancer and would be euthanized at the end of February. I was working till 12:00 that day, it happened at 14:00. I got 2 days off for this 1 day to mourn and one day for the cremation. We heard a year before this in 2021 that my mother had 3 years to…

We heard a year before this in 2021 that my mother had 3 years to live due to incredibly bad lungs. At the start of March she had a very big cerebral infarction was paralyzed on her entire left side and her life expectancy was now at best 6 months.

Early April I had an accident and couldn't walk properly for 2 months (I was home during this time)
and would go back to work 18th of July as I discussed with the company doctor, my own orthopedist/surgeon and my employer.

All the while I received nice and encouraging messages from the company. In May my mother sadly passed away and the company and colleagues sent me cards etc. all very kind
Then while I'm still getting better me and my wife both get covid, both down for a week or so, properly sick for 2 days but that was the worst.

Last Friday I send my employer a message if I can't start a week early because I'm itching to go and they say they're not renewing my contract.

Their reason was that I didn't develop enough in my job despite them giving me lead over 3 people after a short time and letting me train another 4 successfully.
I just want honesty.
And this made me feel like I'm nothing to a company no matter how nice they were acting to me.

I want to hear some other peoples opinions on this matter please.

Tldr: I get a new job December 2021, I get very ill, grandfather dies, I get into an accident can't work for 3 months, my mother dies, I get covid and while the company was very supportive my contract isn't renewed.
