Antiwork

This might not be the place for it, but idk, I need some specific career advice from the antiwork crowd haha

So.. the reason I’ve considered this relevant here is – the work culture’s heavy demands pulling me away from the passions I feel like I’m supposed to be devoting to are my biggest gripe with ‘work’, as we know it. It strips all of the meaning out of life. Trading all of our time (life) for some other person’s greed. Anyways, I’m constantly looking for a way to remedy this problem the best I can: steal back as much of my time as I can from work to dedicate to my personal life mission. I posted this on other subreddits, but I am curious what other people who may feel this way about work in general might have to say about it: I’m 32. Anyways, I’m constantly looking for a way to remedy this problem the best I can: steal back as much of my time as I can from work to dedicate to my personal life mission. I posted this on other subreddits, but I am curious what other people who may feel this way about work in general might have to say about it:

I’m 32. My life is to be dedicated to filmmaking, pro wrestling, hip hop, and a myriad of other passionate interests. I have no time for college – as all of my time outside of my survival job needs to go to these things in order for me to have any time for them. However, it’s heavily doubtful that they will ever pay the bills (although that’s the grand pipe dreams) and I need a survival job to pay the bills.

It can’t be anything that requires school or certification programs, is the thing. As I said, I need a survival job, and the rest of my time had to go to these passionate interests. I’m completely unwilling to budge on that being the setup of my life from now on. So, from there, what might suit me?

I prefer as much of my time for my passionate interests as I can, and my expenses are kept reasonably quite low. So I prefer to work around 35 hours a week or so. 39 max. I really try my very best to keep it under 40 and free up more of my time to pursue what I know I must do with my time alive on earth.

Flexibility is a good thing. People come at me with “just start your own business then” but again, we run into the same issues with going to school on that one. It needs to be a job I can sort of just… get into. Preferably one with decently good pay, that doesn’t require a ton of hours, good flexibility and understanding management. Something not too soul-crushing preferably. And nothing too ‘dirty’ (big germophobe here). I’m not totally crazy about germs but anything in a medical setting or janitorial or pest control or dealing with trash is probably out for me.

Any ideas?
