When I was younger, I was particularly dedicated to my first few jobs. I was always confused when I would see people older than me who would show up at a job for a day or two, and then disappear or “found another job.” Sometimes I would kind of scoff to myself and think like, what the hell? who just shows up for like one or two days and then leaves a job? thats so strange. After seeing a few posts on here about people walking off the job on the first day, as well as working in toxic environments, I completely understand now.
Those people valued themselves. They were honest enough and knew what they wanted, and decided that this situation was a mess, and decided to get out early. This is something I wish I had done. at one job in particular, I got really weird vibes almost immeadietly. My first day at this automotive repair shop I walk in, and the guy who interviewed me, who was also the manager (who turned out to be a demon, that I can't believe I didn't assault) was just standing there within the shop smoking a cigarette and like, pretty much started off with ball busting. Everyone else was a bit weird, and idk. I got bad vibes immeadietly, and I should've picked up on my gut feeling more and just left. Turned out to be terrible.
Anyways, respect to anyone who has respected themselves enough to walk right the fuck off a job site as soon as its not looking good. Props to you, get what you deserve.
