I was looking for a second job because fuck these prices, I applied for a job posting and got called in for an interview.
Now, the salary was indeed low but the benefits were not bad at all, and I was planning on negotiating it a little higher, as I was confident in my experience and qualifications, I could have definitely proved it would have been worth it.
The interview starts, and while I don't get the bestest of vibes from them, they do sound genuinely interested in hiring me. After I said my bit and answered their follow up questions, they state how they are very impressed by me, and my resume is excellent to them. They comment on how they have been trying for months to look for someone like me and I really will be an asset (In my mind I was thinking, that's the wrong move my dude, you just revealed your entire hand). I prepare myself to negotiate a higher wage, when they hit me with:
“We are ready to sign today. We do have to inform you that until you will get to know the job better, you won't be receiving any benefits, and your salary will be a percentage of the full wage we will give you when you get experience with us. We estimate that might take around 6 months”.
I didn't bother replying, I started laughing out loud and walked out.
