Thoughts/advice?

So I started working at this retail store in November for Black Friday and there have been a lot of changes with the company, with the managers and staff etc. This past semester I have been busy with school so I was working part-time so that I could be able to have a work/school/life balance. Recently, we had a birthday party come to the store and I got called in because they were short staffed. But before I went in my manager told me —by text— that she would venmo me extra if I came in. I asked her if she could add it to my hourly wage to which she replied that she couldn’t because it was coming out of her own pocket. I gave her my venmo and have dropped several hints that she hasn’t paid me yet, but still haven’t gotten anything. Is it even legal for…
