This week while I was waiting on some other things to occur I took a job offer from asurion, it’s one of these go to the customers houses and install stuff, it was advertised as 25 hours a week basically five hours a day and that would give me time to work on some other projects in the area so it was OK. I went to the first day of training and it was extremely weird they literally talked about food for an hour of the four hours. I find that super disrespectful to start with I have important things to work on and I don’t wanna waste my life talking about junk food. During this time we discovered that they will only pay us for two hours if they do not have enough work and then send us home. I found that extremely frustrating after the recruiter guaranteed 25 hours. 25 hours was basically the only economical amount even that wasn’t really enough. The job is interesting and I would be good at it but the company at this point seems disorganized and unprofessional. When I challenged what I was hearing other people started asking questions and the trainer shut me down because I was making other folks aware of how they were going to rip them off. Clearly they did not explain this properly to anyone. It’s two weeks of training paid in the evening on zoom so I will probably go to that even though it feels gross. But I think I’m gonna use the time to continue looking for other jobs and not really engage unless I am forced to. I am extremely skilled and they are wasting my time. I am going to speak up for myself and what is right and they did not seem to like that. I’m grumpy so this post might be grumpy, just needed to clear my head see what you folks thought
