I clean pools. We sell nonessential products that aren’t needed and as incentive, we earn commission on those items.
We have a new inventory system that requires us to check out said products for the day prior to arriving on any job site that day.
It’s only been the first week. The GM, who is the one to sign out the items, has made this process a pain in the ass. I told him I’ll simply not sell anything that isn’t necessary anymore.
He retaliated that you all can start to look for other jobs then. You’re actually threatening to fire personnel because we’re no longer going to pad customers with products they don’t actually need? We (technicians) are not even directly in sales. We have an actual retail store front for that.
His answer: yes.
It’s time!
