After a brief exchange with my landlord about how the utility bills are too high because I'm “running the air conditioner” in Florida it dawned on me that most landlords are not reinvesting the income from their units into their units and utilities . No instead they pocket it and let their units fall into disrepair . Being a parasite . Rent prices aren't high due to inflation like most people say. That's why I voluntarily raised my rent by $100 to offset the cost of utilities. But it's become clear that they're just pocketing it
