Tips on avoiding your boss without them realizing it at a small company?

I work at a high tech startup. I was talking with my therapist the other day and she strongly advised me to look for a different job because how toxic/abusive my boss is. I just started there after a work gap being a stay at home mom but I’m divorced now and need an income. Leaving so quickly would really hurt my future prospects but I also don’t want to let the toxic assholery affect my wellbeing. I’m planning to stay for maybe 6 months if I can and kick ass at it while interacting with my boss as little as possible, while letting him think he’s managing me. I have plenty of projects I can mostly execute myself or collaborating with other people.

Any tips on not interacting with a boss while also not making it obvious you’re avoiding him?
