I stepped into a management roll around October of last year, I was already supervising the front end of my retail store, and so when I was asked to become one of the managers I accepted since my roll was basically the same with the addition of counting the tills and closing at the end of the night. No other changes to my job. This promotion got me an extra 3 dollars an hour, which was solid. A month or so ago I decided to step down, as I was needing to cut back my hours to better focus on my studies, with my finals approaching. I lost the 3 dollars an hour, which I expected, but also lost the raise I had received prior to becoming a manager because “the minimum wage increased, and raises don't apply to that.” So since the bare minimum went up by over 60 cents, I lost my 60 cent raise. I was given the caviat that our performance reviews were coming up, and I'd likely be given a raise. Fast forward, and I'm basically just tasked with manager responsibilities, with the exception of not counting the tills, and locking the door, but was still solo supervising the front end of the store, organizing breaks, and managing the sales associates. I think, “okay, I can deal with this, I'm going to be getting a raise soon, that'll make up for all the extra responsibilities.” My review comes, I'm thanked for my performance and stepping up in times of need, which was basically every time I had a shift, and received a whole 40 cents more an hour. Less than my raise from last year, despite taking more responsibilities, and minimum wage increasing, which should lead to a proportionally larger raise to keep up. Basically I got strung along and then fked. I'm now giving minimum effort because fk that, if I'm only worth 40 cents over the normal sales associates, then you get an extra 40 cents of effort, bug I'm still pissed
