so i’ve been working for this company for a few years, i started out as a volunteer and then started to get hired as a summer intern every year for the last 3 years with my latest summer position ending a few weeks ago.
i have great relationships with the people i worked with there and the position definitely did open doors for me bc i came into it with 0 experience a few years ago when i started so i’m definitely thankful but i just started college full time. i also had a shitty job earlier this year that burned me the fuck out which i quit in may to intern during the summer. i like the work and i like the company but jesus christ i don’t want to work anymore for awhile let alone for free.
i said i could maybe work in some time to volunteer on my off days bc i have a lot of seniority and company knowledge but i just don’t want to anymore. i want to focus on my studies and to just relax for the first time in over a year when i can and to start working when i feel ready. idk how to tell my old boss this tho without burning a bridge.
