I am moving to another state at the end of this month. I told my manager in April that I was moving so that we would have time to go over my job duties and I could train her in my processes (I set up our patient records system and she never formally learned the back-end processes to support the system without me). Well, week by week, I heard a lot of “Oh, we'll work on that next week.” Friday is my last day — 2 days from now. I put in my formal notice 2 weeks ago and have just watched the days tick by as my manager continues to push me off for another day with “Oh I don't have time, but we'll work on it soon!” She hasn't met with me a single time in the last three and a half months, so she knows nothing that she's supposed to know.
My son is sick. He's 2. He was diagnosed with RSV three weeks ago and I think it's developed into pneumonia or something similar. I came to work this week anyway so that I could get my manager up to speed, and yet I'm still getting pushed aside until “later.” At this point I'm just so frustrated that I'm seriously doubting whether my manager is going to meet with me at all, or if my time would be better spent taking care of my son ahead of what will be a very stressful move — especially if he hasn't recovered from whatever upper respiratory funk he's dealing with right now.
Should I walk? Or should I continue to wait until “later” and hope my manager actually decides to show her face?
