First of all, toxic workplaces are NEVER your fault.
However, to what extent can we blame ourselves for failing to remove ourselves from that environment?
Maybe this is not an apt analogy, but I have a friend who constantly complains about his wife, tells me that he wants to divorce her and moans about how abusive she is.
Yet he comes up with excuses as to why he can't separate from her (even though he is the main breadwinner). In my own mind that's his fault. But I wonder if the same logic applies in the context of toxic workplaces? (Of course, I know it's kinda different if you are dependent on a job and can't find a job anywhere else)
Thoughts?
