Babysitting costs $65 per day. It costs me about 2.5 hours of work to be able to work, daily. Baby goes to babysitter at 10:30, I work 6a-2p and husband works 11a-7p. We were told there's no more work for us today in the warehouse and that we'd be leaving around 11:30, or at lunch. I said screw it and dipped at 9:45, getting home in time to take the baby and not have to pay for daycare that I would have been charged if I had stayed until lunch time. So I get to keep the money I made this morning and I don't have to send the baby to get exposed to more germs that might potentially make me take another week and a half off work like I had to, two weeks ago.
Then I get home and find out that in February, my rent is going up by potentially $300/month because we have to sign a new lease.
Endless rat race, working just to work more. Endless rat race, jail cell no door
I'm tired. I've been tired for a long time and I'm starting to lose hope that it ever gets better
