Just finished an interview where I asked at the end what the salary range was and I was told “asking about money is disrespectful during interviews”. They then asked me 2 more questions before finishing with “what are your salary expectations?”
My response was that I did not want to discuss it because I wanted to be respectful of everyone in the room.
I am so done with companies thinking they should not have to provide us any information before an offer letter is sent. This is why interviewing is so exhausting, I spend hours preparing for them only to get some boomer saying that I am disrespecting them by asking a simple GD question.
