So, a month ago I asked for a raise (I am seriously underpaid for my industry) and my boss ignored me. Then yesterday he set a meeting and told me I wouldn't be getting a raise because I wasn't doing enough to warrant one. When I asked for specifics he pointed to the fact that I wasn't doing things that are completely out of my job scope. (For reference the team is down 3 crucial positions) and he expected me to pick up the slack of this work and proceeded to tell me I should be doing things I'm not trained to do nor have any experience in.
I said of course I'd be happy to try but that's why I'm asking for a raise, to be properly compensated. He got very rude and angry and told me I don't deserve even my current salary.
GUYS I LOST IT. Years of anger and frustration with this guy all poured out and I told him he doesn't know how to run a company, is a POS and an effin joke, then I hung up.
This is not my personality at all and I spent all day yesterday feeling guilty and bad but today I woke up feeling brand new. I'm free. I feel lighter. Though it won't make a difference, I'm so happy I told him off.
This is your reminder to stand up for yourself and know your WORTH!
