For context, I work at a small-town gas station. We're never too busy, and only two people are needed to manage the entire store. Morning shift have three-four people, while night shift have two.
Anyway, my manager (who is in her fifties) tried calling me over to tell me that she “needed me to come in at 1:00 tomorrow instead of at 3:00.” When I asked her why, she used the ole' reliable “because I said so,” which pissed me off as soon as I heard it. I told her I had plans before work (I don't, obviously) and that I planned to show up at 3:00, which is what I'm still officially scheduled for. The fact that she tried telling me and trying to verbally bully me into coming in before my scheduled time was just pathetic.
I'm the only full-time employee on night shift, and, frankly, I bust my ass just to keep myself busy and make time go by faster. If they really want to push this further and risk losing me, then shit, I'm honestly willing to take it that far. The mechanic I intern for wants to hire me anyway, so fuck it! I have nothing to lose here, in my opinion. Who is she to force me to come to work early? She isn't my damn mother.
