Too poor and too rich for healthcare

So my husband has been out of a job for awhile, I'm an independent contractor so we were getting insurance through the marketplace. It was costing like $1200 a month with a tax credit applied. He recently got hired for a new job which starts in Jan and doesn't give us health insurance til 30 days. So that means we need to get Marketplace insurance for 30 days only. Since it goes off of how much money you'll make next year, not what you currently make, they basically said we are too wealthy for a tax credit, but don't have enough money to qualify for coverage at all except through Medicaid and to expect an email from them. Well the enrollment is over and we never heard anything, so looks like we just won't have insurance for a month. I have a chronic illness and am on several expensive medications,…
