Took 2 Ubers, waited 2 hours for my 2 employers to end up firing me.

The situation is simple but the way I feel about it is more complicated. I was asked to come in for a 1 on 1 meeting with the owner of the small shop I work for. Not a big deal I was recently hired and this was to discuss a small promotion. It was rescheduled, twice; 10 minutes before it should have started, and I took an Uber there. We settled on this afternoon instead. These were short training shifts that had worked in the weeks up until now, so the Uber there and back was going to be a full days wages for me, and so I had the highest of hopes for this meeting. These were short training shifts that had worked in the weeks up until now, so the Uber there and back was going to be a full days wages for me, and so I had the highest of hopes for this meeting.
Well to make it simple, I was told by a different employee once I showed up that the owner wasn’t gonna make it but if I wanted to wait for 2 hours then I was welcome to have a seat. So I went next door and had a coffee while I waited, but my phone was about to die and Uber was the only way for me to get around today, meaning I couldn’t stay to wait and had to text the owner that I’ll be going home but if the meeting could happen later I could come back. I also offered a phone call.
They accepted the phone call.
On which they fired me for not having enough passion, even though they hired me for a position I was over qualified for for, which they knew and acknowledged, and sited my eagerness to move to upper management as the reason they believed I was not passionate enough about my lower position to work for them.
I’m pissed, annoyed, broke and unemployed. For being too eager to work, it seems.
