Took a job for my mental health

I started a new job last month because the last one the hours were beginning to suck. It is important that my job also doesn’t affect my mental health too much as I’ve been struggling the last year. I like my new position so far and it is only a few miles down the road as my last one was almost half hour away. I took a slight pay cut but the hours are consistent and it has better benefits. I’m working in the recovery field so don’t get me wrong it is meaningful work but don’t preach how we are valued as workers when I make the same starting wages as McDonald’s across the road. I’m happy they are making more now but don’t act like this job is amazing when it isn’t lol.

But it is good enough for now so all is well I guess. I was just so disappointed in my job search to find any jobs with kids, disabled people, really anyone in need of direct service paid absolutely horrible. If you can deal with the public almost better off going into retail or something vs medical/education/non profit.
