I made sure to ask how often we’d be coming in, if it would get more frequent or less frequent, etc. I told them I have a puppy and a terrible commute, they said they understood, would be all good.
Since we have flexible hours even for in person days I come around 7 and leave around 1. I take my lunch when I leave, and usually still end up doing some stuff from home later in the day. Was just told by my supervisor that my boss doesn’t like that, and says it looks bad as everyone else stays to around 4…. (that’s cause everyone else arrives around 10/11) I told my supervisor I don’t understand why that’s an issue… we have FLEXIBLE hours. It’s not my fault my boss comes in at 11? Anyways… he told me it’s all about perception and asked me to come in for specific hours today.
Our sales department also has no help whatsoever, completely new department… we are the Guinea pigs…. no one is hitting target… (not even the one guy whose been there 6 months) and all of my sales have actually been made on days I work from home. Am I being unreasonable or is this as annoying as I feel it is??
I never have an issue getting my shit done, and even though I’m new I’m doing just as well as the guys who have been there few months longer than me. Oh on top of that the office turned from a quite chill place into a “call center” as my boss decided to push everyone’s desks together and have us all call right next to each other. It’s very clear he has never worked in a call center Bc I do not know one person who enjoys that???
Talked to my supervisor and let him know this wouldn’t work for me long term, but I don’t want to inconvenience him so I’m going to stay on until the end of the month at least to help the team. I really don’t want to keep coming into the office, dealing w traffic both ways, and doing the call center thing three days a week. Should I just quit or what do I do here !!!?
