I don't work at total wine, but I went there to buy a bottle of wine for Valentine's day. As I was checking out I noticed that the cashier's hand had some sort of tape or something on it, so I asked them about it. They said that they thought they had seen some sort of display sign and attempted to hit it or something, but it was actually some green glass and it cut up their hand (tbh the story was sort of confusing, mostly because I am bad at social interactions I think). I asked if that means they would receive worker's compensation. They said Total Wine requires a doctor's note, and they can't afford to reload their bus card to see the doctor.
At the very end they said “I hate capitalism”, which I quite appreciated.
I gave them a cash “tip” for their nice service, and I hope it can help them deal with their hand. All I can think about is having a crippling injury for the rest of my life in service of TOTAL WINE.
Capitalism must be destroyed y'all.
