Toxic and underpaid company A. Overpromised on company B opportunities. Dream job company C.

There’s light at the end of the tunnel! Little background, worked at an extremely toxic company at a high level position making a fraction of what’s offered in the same city for similar roles. Worked my ass off for so long with no raise for last 4-5 years. I learned to interview much better over time, perfected my resume, and eventually snagged a job in sales just to get away. Here I am in sales position for 6 months and sales metrics for everyone at company B have been down for months since I started (I think it’s just the industry and economy right now). I come in early, stay late, work weekends to make commission/quota, and there has been so much micro management in areas that don’t matter and zero real help to improve anyones sales, so I looked elsewhere and snagged a job at a Fortune 500 company where I’m making double than I would in this sales role. Hell, they offered me 25% more than what I even asked for with tons of growth opportunities, benefits, and security. I quit my sales job same day.

To be transparent, I started looking around 3 months into this sales job once I had it down for shits and giggles, but as things were looking worse at this company it was just perfect timing. Glad I never stopped looking.

If anyones curious, I learned a lot about interviewing from this girl on YouTube: Self Made Millennial. Some of its corny/cheesy but it’s all helpful and made me realize I had been interviewing wrong this whole time.
