I see a lot of posts shitting on companies that came out and are offering travel benefits for their employees if they need to go out of state for an abortion.
The posts say companies are doing this to save money since maternity leave is expensive or because they somehow want to control the employees.
So I am wondering, if a company offers 6 weeks of maternity and another 12 weeks of parental leave and they cover the healthcare costs of the birth, what more would you like the company to do in light of the Suoreme Court ruling? Would the company be better of not offering the travel benefits given the negative reaction on this sub?
(For those unfamiliar with how this would work, the employer would not know who uses the benefit since they would authorize their healthcare provider to cover the treatment. The treatment would be confidential similar to health claim information since the healthcare provider cannot share this back to the employer.)
