Tried to work at red lobster, almost got sucked into a host job cycle.

I got all ready to work at red lobster, got everything all together for being a server, and turns out that instead of hiring me for a server job which receives income from tips, I get a host job. I was kinda like hey, okay, as long as it pays right? Wrong. Minimum wage, and he tried to tell me that it was with tips added. The tips added are 2% of what everyone else is making, which amounts to literally nothing. There is also no room for moving up in the system. I literally cannot comprehend how they expect people to get by with this amount of money, especially in the state I live in. Just blows my mind. He did give me the “if you work for us long enough we'll consider moving you to a server position”, but I've already gone through that type of thing, they…
