So. Last week I blew the whistle on shady practices by TruGreen in OKC, OK. I was encouraged to manufacture a bagworm problem to make a sell. We do this by taking bagworms to properties and pretending we found them there. I was also encouraged to look up numbers that are listed as do not call and call them anyway. These practices on top of homophobic comments, sexist comments, and crude sexual jokes. I reported all instances to my manager, they were dismissed and downplayed. I escalated the complaints to HR, my manager went radio silent after that. I was effectively working solo for 3 days, removed from the group chat and no leads were given. I made a post here two weeks ago, corporate must have seen it because the head of HR and the head of Ethics flew out to meet with me. It was a sham meeting full of dismissals and protection of the company. Questions were asked about my social media post and me talking to local media, then made thinly veiled threats when I told them I wouldn’t tell them anything about it. I have filled complaints with multiple governmental agencies and they have started investigations. I may be putting the media interviews on hold but I won’t stay quiet. This is why people hate working for corporations, not because we are lazy. We just don’t want to work for evil people. It’s simple.
