I'm so sick of being told this. My husband and I have heard this numerous times in the past couple months from our managers at our jobs. Management seems to love to use this for everything from reporting bad employees to pay raises.
Honestly, the system sucks. I don't trust the system and won't trust the system.
I'm working with habitually lazy people who do the bare minimum and are causing my company to bleed red. The “system” has done nothing to fix it. I was forced to carry on new responsibilities in a new department with no discussion of compensation. The “system” is looking into where the department is going in order to properly compensate me which has now been 2 months. Keep in mind, I've been doing this new job since January and been asking about increased pay since March.
Watch, the “system” will only work when we all start walking out the door.
