So I'm trying to unionize and was wondering if anyone had tips. We're a remote operation with about 100 people and although I have access to most of them, it's only through the company channels like Microsoft Teams. I'm quite sure none of us have ever met IRL and most of the others are 40+ y/o and although most of us are in Ontario, there's a few spread across Canada.
I'm thinking of trying to get a FB group rolling, but most of the people don't interact with the casual chat where I could post the link and it's gonna be picked up immediately that I'm trying to take shit off of the company-monitored channels.
I'm already talking with a 3rd Party organizer and they've helped unionize other sections of the company, but that's about as far as I've gotten so far.
I don't have access to info on where people are working from city wise, how many of us there actually are, contact info that isn't the company contact, and moving everyone off of Microsoft Teams is gonna be near impossible.
This looks very daunting ngl lol All of the workers are pissed right now though so the quicker I can move on this, the better. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated 🙂
