Two weeks notice
This cultural norm is just ridiculous. If you wanna quit fucking quit. Just walk the fuck out and come back on payday for your last check. With direct deposit, you could seriously just walk right out the door and never go back. It's a courtesy not a rule. You have no obligation to give a two weeks notice, and they have no legal right to withhold your wages. If a previous employee gives you a bad reference, they would have if you had given notice. What are they gonna say? “They didn’t give notice.” fuck ‘em. Also, you can terminated at the drop of a hat. Just, “Get your shit, and get out.” and that's it. This double standard is insanely hypocritical. You're supposed to write a letter, and sit down and talk civilly and spend the next two weeks of your life training your replacement. They can send a text message. I’ve been fired via text twice and the sheer cowardice of it is so funny to me. This is slave morality, because it enforces an idea that you have to treat them better and with more courtesy than they’ve shown you. Why? Because the master is better than the slave. Fuck a two weeks notice. If you do work one, spend it robbing and sabotaging wherever you can.
