Hello someone told me this group could give me advice on my situation.
I am wondering if I am able to apply for unemployment even tho I stopped working months ago. My story is a bit long and confusing bare with me please
I caught COVID-19 in late May of 2021.
I was hospitalized for a week for covid pneumonia. After being released I was back in the hospital because I was having a pschosis episode and hallucinations. I was being treated with medication. I was in the hospital for 11 days that second time. When I was released I was still going through psychosis/delusions.
A week or two passed by and the medications I took only helped me a bit to calm down but I was still going through psychosis so I was hospitalized a third time. This time I was taken into a psych ward. I was there for one entire month. My final mental diagnosis was schizoaffective bipolar type.
My job used to be a work from home. When I was released the third time I went immediately to work and my job had me reapply but honestly I only did it because I needed to pay my rent and bills. I wasn’t entirely functional to work and my anxiety was at an all time high. The medication I was taking wasn’t working and made me more drowsy and like a zombie. I came out of the psych ward super anxious and drugged up.
I only lasted in my work from home job about a month and a half until I started getting super anxious from being stuck home and my mental diagnosis made it hard at the time. I got another job to get out of the house but I only lasted a week because it felt super overwhelming and my anxiety didn’t allow me to perform well. This was a front desk administrator position.
I quit the job due to all the stress and trauma I had from the psychis episode.
I have now been out of work for 6 months and I keep seeking jobs but no one is hiring me. I don’t even know if my case qualifies me for unemployment.
The doctors claim I could have went through the psychotic episode due to an allergic reaction to the steroids I was given for the pneumonia and the inhaler. And under read online that some people with no mental history have gone through a psychotic episde due to COVID
My case is super complex. Idk what to do. Sorry for the novel
